Elementor Pro Performance: A Practical Speed Checklist

Elementor is not inherently slow — most slow Elementor sites are slow for the same handful of avoidable reasons.
Start with what you removed, not what you added
Speed work usually begins with subtraction. Every extra add-on pack, slider plugin and animation library loads its own CSS and JavaScript on pages that never use it. Audit the plugin list first and remove anything that duplicates a feature Elementor Pro already has.
The checklist
Work through these in order; the first three usually account for most of the gain.
- — Serve images in modern formats at the size they actually display, and lazy-load anything below the fold.
- — Host fonts locally, limit yourself to two families and preload the one used in the hero.
- — Reduce section nesting — deeply nested containers create enormous DOM trees that slow rendering.
- — Enable Elementor's optimised features: improved asset loading, optimised DOM output and inline font icons.
- — Add page caching plus CSS and JS minification at the server or plugin level, then retest.
- — Delete unused templates, revisions and orphaned Elementor data from the database.
Measure on mobile, on a real connection
Desktop scores flatter every site. Test the mobile view of your most important pages, watch Largest Contentful Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift, and fix the specific element the report names rather than chasing a single overall number.
